Meter Parking Officer’s Salary will Be Twice of UMP

The meter parking policy has been officially implemented on Jalan Agus Salim (Sabang), Central Jakarta, starting Friday (9/26). To get optimal results, officers will be deployed to safeguard and monitor the area.

Their salary will be twice of UMP or about more than Rp 4 million

Head of Jakarta Transportation Department Parking Management Unit, Sunardi Sinaga, said the officers deployed will be recruited from parking attendants in that area. Later, they will be paid twice of the province minimum wage (UMP) nominal.

“Their salary will be twice of UMP or about more than Rp 4 million,” he stated.

Therefore, Sinaga stressed that the officers are strictly prohibited to ask money to motorists who park their vehicles. If such a thing happened, he will not hesitate to give firm sanction.

“I think the vehicle owners would not give any more money because they have paid a lot. But if there were officers asking for money, report it and I will fire them instantly,” he asserted.

In addition, Sinaga told that his party will also install CCTVs on every parking meter machines on Jalan Sabang.
